iPad, day 2; case anguish, LOL @ no camera

So now that the excitement of being the first to own (along with 699,000 other suckers) the latest & greatest has subsided to a dull roar, I am starting to explore some of the more practical issues. First, I am going to need a case.

I am not going to get an Apple case for sure (booooring), so I started googling. Etsy has a few good options, but I'm not a big 'felt' or 'grandmother's curtains' fan, so I keep looking. Orbino makes a great looking case that I would get at half the price, but $209 +s&h is a bit steep. Pielframa has a decent looking case, but overall uninspiring, and still $150 plus shipping from across the pond. Temple has a handmade case in the same price point, but it screams "murse" to me, so that's out.

The best so far seems to be Vaja, they have 5 cases, all beautiful, running from $120 to $150, and comes in a wide variety of colors. Handcrafting takes 35 days, so you may want to do some interim DIY solution.

The other thing that struck me as funny is that Apple is including Chase Jarvis' Best Camera app with in store iPad bundles (@strobist via twitter). Um, newsflash to Apple, there's no camera on the iPad. So the Best Camera you carry is going to still be on your iPhone.
