I'm not a big Oscar's fan but I was invited to a party at a friends house, so I threw my Canon G10 and a couple PocketWizards into a shoulder bag, off I went.
I had been thinking about a different project dealing with Gamers and their addiction to the screen, and this was the perfect way to give the concept a shakedown run.
I arrived first, set up the G10 on a tiny Leica tripod right in front of the TV, slapped on a Pocketwizard Receiver with a remote cable and didn't tell anyone about it. Black table, black TV, black camera. No one noticed. I sat back with the Transmitter and snapped pics all night to get the reactions:
The fun part is when you view all the photos as a set, get the range of emotions from all the viewers. Rather than posting all the pics, and in the spirit of the awards, here's a short QuickTime timelapse video (2 seconds per frame for 30 frames:
